The anticipated Marvel event is here. Eternals, X-Men and Avengers all collide once more in the morality of immortality. War, there will always be war. Now that the X-Men have discovered the route to immortality, those that are immortal (created by ancient alien gods) are unhappy. Avengers find themselves in the middle of a war that has already started trying their best to stop the unstoppable. As always, humans showcase nothing but hate and jelousy towards the mutants.Β
Gillen presents us the constant struggle mutants have always faced. One way or another, they are βdeviantβ. As mutants evolve to conquer the red planet, live in peace and reach immortality, immortal forces deem them with excess deviancy since they have reached, well, immortality. Because for the Eternals it is obviously wrong to be immortal, unless they are the immortal ones of course.Β
Art, like the story, gives us a moment of peace before hell breaks loose. Classical panels are broken apart within the same scene when a plot twist ignites the downfall of the story. Art becomes very dynamic as the story reveals the first steps to an all out war. There is a lot of attention to the detail in the background. Which enhances this amazing story.
As Avengers meddle to find a peaceful way to solve this, will they help to make things worse?
