Ghost Rider (2022 Marvel) #5A

Ghost Rider (2022 Marvel) #5A

This has to be the best Ghost Rider comic so far. Sure, Percy is taking us through Blaze’s hellish self-discovery journey. So far the story is engaging with a variety of characters complicating Ghost Rider’s journey. The narrative is done mostly in first person with a 3rd person used here and there. So the story is great… But the amount of cameos in this book, all of them riding motorcycles towards meeting the Devil himself? Can you imagine Dr. Doom vs Moonknight vs Wolverine vs Swamp Thing vs many many more? How can you beat that?!

Artistically, the use of panels is very modern with a black background on every page, taking us deeper into the darkness. The use of panels makes the story very dynamic. There is a huge amount of details both on each character and the background giving us that grittiness of such a dark story. The use of colors is wonderful. While scenes can be differentiated with different palettes, the aggressive change of colors within the panels enhances the violent experience.

We got Cover A by amazing artist Kael Ngu who is known for hyper realistic covers and wonderful perspectives and blurred backgrounds.
