The grossest crossover is published 30 years after their creation. For the first time in more than 30 years, two of the grossest merchandising blitz have partnered to bring us a time traveling comic that takes us to the late 80s and early 90s. A nonsensical story brings you to the MAD Magazine era of hysterical nastiness. The premise, while simple, opens the door for a plethora of options to explore. The main story is generously supported by side stories.
The art is gruesome, nasty and plainfully magical. The colors are bright and reminds us of those classical GPK cards. Panels are chaotic and visually busy. There is no space to breath which helps the narrative drive you through the gruesome experience.
Cover B done by Jason Crosby. The cover highly reminds me of a MAD Magazine from the 90s. The painting relies heavily in yellow tones contrasted with green accents. The image could pass as an iconic Garbage Pail Kids or Madballs collectible card. It brings you back directly to the 90s perfectly preserving the style.
