While the first couple of issues had some weird narrative. It got fixed fast. This series gives us an insight to Alfred's past, something unusual for DC. We get to see him as a young spy saving the world fighting enemies and betrayals. It is a good insight into learning who Alfred Pennyworth is and how that has influenced Bruce Wayne.
While not one of the greatest DC limited series, it is a good read into understanding Alfred's past. The story isn't amazing, could have been more interesting. But what you learn from Alfred is priceless! His background goes beyond himself to his own father, lover and even enemies. It also shows us the ethical construct that has been passed to Bruce as the Batman. Honor, justice and doing the right thing.
