Pak drives us right into action in this issue. We meet a Vader that is almost all might, almost. The story depicts a machiavelic Vader that is willing to do everything he needs to achieve his goal. Even putting an enemy in charge of his own forces. I like the storylines contrast as a true hero tries to save the planet while Vader himself is just out for revenge. Again, he is reminded and faced with his past and hence human nature. It is an interesting theme, the writer has been exploring.
Art itself carries the story perfectly. A purple palette is very present yet non intrusive. Scenes are perfectly defined even as they share a palette. A masterful use of colors. You could argue art shines when depicting the hero facing the storm. But as a Vader lover I am between that scene and those of Vade fighting. Because, well, it is Vader fighting. It is hard to focus on other parts, as amazingly drawn as they are, when Vader pulls his red lightsaber ready to destroy anything in his sight.
